Evening Book Group

The AAUW Washington, D.C., branch’s book discussion group meets once a month from September through June on the second Tuesday night, 6 p.m., at a restaurant near a Metro stop. Members of the group suggest books and the group agrees on which book it will read, usually two months in advance. We read fiction, non-fiction, poetry (annually at our poetry night in December) and other types of books but try to read “literary” books rather than bestsellers or “easy reads.”

Various members volunteer to facilitate the discussion and they research the book and author, bringing biographical information about the author, and questions and quotes to discuss.
